Lock pages in memory

AKA: SeLockMemoryPrivilege, Lock pages in memory

Default assignment: none

This low level right allows a program to lock pages of its memory into physical memory and prevent it from being swapped out to disk. This is valuable for ensuring certain memory is always available in high speed RAM but, improperly used, could dramatically slow down a computer’s performance by preventing the normal functioning of virtual memory.

This right should only be assigned to accounts running applications with very special memory and performance requirements and that explicitly use this right.
