Take ownership of files and other objects

AKA: SeTakeOwnershipPrivilege, Take ownership of files and other objects

Default assignment: Administrators

This extremely powerful right allows you to take ownership of any object (file, folder, registry key, etc) on the system. As owner of an object you can modify the ACL of the object in any way grant others access or modifying the object itself. To take ownership of an object open its Properties window, select the Security tab, click Advanced and select the Owner tab. You can change the owner to yourself or to your primary group, provided you have this right.
