System Objects: Require Case Insensitivity For Non–Windows Subsystems
This setting enforces case insensitivity for non-Windows subsystems like POSIX. POSIX (UNIX) systems are normally case sensitive meaning that a file called Junk.txt would be a different file from JUNK.TXT even in the same folder.
This setting, if enabled, forces other subsystems to be case insensitive for object names just like Windows.
I guess there are some obtuse ways case sensitivity could be used to subvert security controls if you looked hard enough which is why this setting is under Security Options. I’m sorry… Was that insensitive of me?
Bottom line
Don’t disable this.
