What’s New in Kali Linux and the Latest Password Cracking Tools

Webinar Registration

Kali Linux has become one of the de facto platforms in any form of threat analysis. An open-source Linux based distribution commonly used for Penetration Testing, Security Research, Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Reverse Engineering, and Red Teaming, Kali Linux contains many tools used to facilitate the same practical real-world tools and actions as cybercriminals. Even those focused on cybersecurity at a less “hands on” level should at very least have a basic grasp of the toolsets used by hackers today to better understand the actions taken, how they work, and what you can do to defend against them.

In this Real Training for Free session, 4-time Microsoft MVP Nick Cavalancia takes my seat as he first discusses:

  • The state of brute force and password cracking activity in attacks today
  • Why password cracking remains a widely-used technique
  • Mapping these techniques to MITRE

Next up, we’ll hear from Joe Carson, Chief Security Scientist & Advisory CISO at Delinea, who will cover the latest updates to Kali Linux and some of the personalization changes he makes. Joe will then deep dive into the latest password cracking tools included in Kali Linux. He will demonstrate some live password cracking techniques and provide best practices in how to defend against each tool.

Some of the tools to be covered include:

  • Hydra
  • CeWL
  • John
  • Crunch
  • Hashcat
  • Crowbar

This Real Training for Free session will be full of real-world practical information. Register now!
